well, i don’t really think it’s anything he did. he’s a pretty down to earth dude that wouldn’t harm a fly

i think it’s the fact that some of his more… how should i put it… unique songs are his most popular ones, so therefore that’s what people hear the most? they’re not to everyone’s taste; they have very deep and distorted basslines that a majority of the population are NOT used to hearing, so they don’t like it

i think this also leads to the whole “so-and-so is ruining music” thing that happens whenever an artist like sonny becomes popular

i think if some of his better work was more popular there would be a lot less hate, but because things like scary monsters and equinox are the “iconic skrillex songs” that people really don’t give him a chance…

i’ve noticed since i’ve been blogging about his stuff, and ESPECIALLY since wreck-it-ralph came out, there have been a lot of positive things about his work on my dash so that makes me happy :D
